Below are various links to gifted resources where information can be found about enrichment opportunities. All these sites are very useful for students in upper elementary grades. There are other sites listed that are useful to students with special strengths or interests in particular subject areas. All the sites cater to enriching students to their maximum potential.

Summer Activities

Looking for extra activities especially designed for gifted students. Here are some links that may help. They are all highly recommended.

DASD Summer Programs
The camp is a two week day camp from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Lionville Elementary School or other air conditioned site. The camp sessions are in late June, July, and early August. See picture on the right.

Summer Institute for Gifted
This overnight three week camp has a campus at Bryn Mawr College as well as other sites in eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. It has both academic and activity courses for students from 4th through 11th grade.

C-Mites Programs
This program is run by Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. They have weekend workshops during the year for 3rd through 7th graders. In the summer, there are one and two week courses running from 9:00 a.m. to noon. They have sites in Kennett Square, Abington, and Media in eastern Pennsylvania.

Johns Hopkins
This is a program offered in the Baltimore/Washington area. They have day programs starting at second grade. The three week overnight courses are offered in fifth grade.

Lehigh University
This is a two week summer experience, offered once, usually in July. It is open for ages 4 to 11. It is a science camp with a diferent theme each year. Each camp involves trips including hands-on activities. Sites vary depending on the theme for the year.
